I’m an all-round creative with a critical eye for visual communication. I’ve studied Art Theory and Graphic Design, and have worked as a freelance creative for almost a decade. More about me

On art: My background is in Art Theory (Bachelor of Art Theory, Hons I, UNSW Art & Design) and I’ve worked in the art industry for the past seven years. This has included writing a thesis on experimental Chinese art; researching and developing exhibitions; working with cultural collections; digitisation and archival research; coordinating budgets and reports; proofreading publications; and marketing and communications. For me, art has the valuable potential to reveal alternate perspectives on life and to capture the human experience in new, intimate and insightful ways.

On design: I see colour combinations, textures and patterns in the world around me every day. I’m that kind of person who will keep a wine bottle label or an innocuous newspaper image to study! Through graphic design (Certificate IV Graphic Design), I’m able to apply my appreciation for balance, branding, composition and colour to all that I do. For me, design can improve quality of life whether it be from making order out of chaos; creating a mood and interest; communicating a message quickly and simply, or slowly and savouringly; or turning practical, everyday functionality into moments of pleasure and joy.

On everything else: I’ve always got new ideas and projects on my mind and love learning new skills. If I’m not working, you can find me watching a documentary or trying out new recipes. I’m passionate about mental health, the equal rights of women, the livelihoods of LGBTQI+ people, and the intersectional experiences of the people around me. I’m always up for discussing existential philosophy with my friends but - let’s be real - I’ll happily talk about my favourite TikTok videos with you, too.
